Domba to the Dougie, Saturday August 5th 8:00pm

Join the African American Cultural Center and Dance Days of Buffalo on Saturday, August 5th at Tapestry Charter School for a journey through time from Domba to The Dougie.  Starting at 8:00pm we’re going to take you back, way back, to where the social dance crazes we know and love began.  Beginning with the legendary Domba dance, we will take a journey through the evolution of African American social dance forms through the years like the Charleston, Lindy Hop, The Twist, Breakdancing and many more.  Featuring performers from the AACC Dance & Drum performance company, Ballroom Revolution, Musicality Central and other talented performers.  Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors, kids under 12 attend free of charge!  Available at the African American Cultural Center and online at www.aacc.org and www.dancedaysofbuffalo/events/

 

Contemporary Choreographers Showcase, Friday August 4th 8:00pm

Dance Days of Buffalo is proud to present an evening of contemporary works by local and guest choreographers on Friday August 4th at 8:00pm at Tapestry Charter School.  Curated from a pool of applicants, this evening promises to highlight the innovation and creativity among the Buffalo arts community.  Works are inspired by concepts such as societal expectations, addiction, the human experience and nature.  Following the performance, join us for a question and answer period with select choreographers to gain more insight into their creative process.  Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors, kids under 12 attend free of charge!  Available at www.dancedaysofbuffalo
